The larger buttons and rotary controls make input easier than ever before, and the new technology makes sound levelling as intuitive and accessible as it can be.įurthering its reputation as one of the most stable and reliable DAWs available are a handful of additional features. An excellent example of this is the Maximizer, which now has an improved algorithm working under the hood. More than 400 drum loops and presets can be found here to enhance or inspire song writing and creation, all easily brought in from the menus on the right margin.Ĭubase’s dynamic and effect plug-ins have also undergone an overhaul, both in terms of functionality and look.

The Production Grooves drum library has been added to satisfy percussion and beats missing from your projects. Any lower zone view can be maximised to full-screen at any moment.

Within the sampler track is Caleidoscope, a dedicated sample library with hundreds of samples and presets. This window has been designed to inspire and accommodate creativity in audio processing and features a plethora of tools and filters to manipulate your selection. Dragging a piece of audio into the lower zone opens the new sampler control window and creates a sampler track. The inspector area to the left of the screen is also dynamic and has a new editor tab to use in conjunction with the lower zone. You can even record directly to the editor if so desired. The editor tab is dynamic and will change dependant on the user’s selection – select an audio region and the sample editor appears, whilst a MIDI selection will bring up the MIDI editor and so on. The undo function can now be applied to changes made in the mix console, and your undo options can now be viewed in a Photoshop style list so almost any mistake or experiment is retractable. Channel strips, inserts and sends each have a dedicated window selectable from the margin of the mix console tab.

The Mix Console has been improved to facilitate seamless workflow and, while visible in the Lower Zone, allows access to the mix controls whilst still viewing and editing audio in the main track display. The tools selectable in the Lower Zone are the Mix Console, active Editor, Chord Pads and the new Sampler Control. This is a context sensitive area, changing dependant on the current user focus. One of the most obvious changes is the addition of a “Lower Zone” toward the base of the GUI. This edition includes some radical changes to both the graphical user interface and tool set, although those familiar with Cubase will still feel at home with Cubase 9.5 Artist.
